FAQs

Where do you get your turquoise from?

I get most of my turquoise from my "turquoise guy". It sounds sketchy, but it isn't at all! I have been buying from him for years and years and he always sends me quality stones at a very reasonable price so that I don't have to charge you an arm and a leg. All the stones are bundled by mine - I know where each and every stone came from. They're unique and unusual, just like you! I also have a small handful of other lapidary artists I trust that I purchase from from time to time.

Why does it matter where my turquoise comes from?

In a nutshell, because there's a lot of crap out there sold as turquoise. It's low quality, or even plastic. When you know where your turquoise is sourced, you can be sure of the quality you're getting. Each mine also has it's unique characteristics and personality. Do you like crazy spider webs? Go with Number 8. Do you like stones that shade from blue to green? Go Royston. Do you like smooth uninterrupted blue? Sleeping Beauty is your guy. Turquoise is varied and stupidly awesome. It's so much more than just a color!

What is your jewelry priced so much higher than the $12 turquoise ring I found on etsy?

For a multitude of reasons. For starters, I'm using REAL materials. Sterling silver and genuine turquoise. All of my items are one of a kind and hand crafted, not mass produced overseas using "turquoise colored" low grade material. Did I mention one-of-a kind? You will never see your ring on anyone else! I also make much more durable jewelry than that cheaper ring. My items will last a life time. I don't do delicate. I make jewelry that will stand up to your real life on a day to day basis and still look amazing for years to come.

What the heck is flame painting?

It's literally coloring copper with fire - painting with flame! Copper is one of the coolest (see what I did there?) metals on the earth. While most metals will turn colors when heat is applied, none do it quite like copper. By heating the piece with a torch, I can create different designs and colors. It's a largely unpredictable process, and can depend on factors such as temperature, humidity, time of day, my mood, what song is on the radio - the list goes on and on. It can even change from one minute to the next. All my copper pieces are one of a kind - because it's literally impossible to make the same piece twice.

Will the coloring wear off?

I use an industrial strength sealant designed for outdoor furniture. It's super durable and flexible and safely protects those precious colors so they will stay right where you want them.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. I offer a layaway option for all orders over $100. Just message me to set one up.

When will my package arrive?

I will ship your item within 1-2 business days. I ship first class via the USPS. If you would like expedited delivery, please ask. I will do my best to get your package to you as quickly as possible. Rush shipping charges will apply. *A quick note due to COVID-19: my local post office is no longer open on Saturdays, so orders placed on Fridays will not ship until Monday.

Do you accept returns?

I do. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, I accept returns within 7 days of delivery. At the end of the day, my main goal is to make sure that you have a piece of jewelry that you absolutely love. Let's work together to make that happen. Let's stay in touch and we can find a solution that works for both of us. The only items that I do not accept returns on are customs.

So, you accept custom orders?

Yes, I do. I have had some amazing customers come to me with ideas I never would have dreamed up. It helps me to shake up my creativity and gives you some ownership of the creative process. Whether you are looking for something like you see in my shop but a different size, or something completely different, let's talk about it! As I mentioned above however, due to the uniqueness of a custom project, they are non refundable.
